He is eating solids now and loves them. He gets lunch and a "snack" that for now is actually like a second lunch. We gave him a couple of jars of babyfood, but what he likes best and what is easiest for us to just mash up a non-salted portion of what we're eating. He's developing a sophisticated palate already and loves garlic and olive oil with his meats and veggies. So far, the only thing he doesn't like is artichoke. Ham and sauteed green beans are a big favorite.
His lower right incisor is coming in, but it doesn't seem to bother him too much. It's cute to hear it "clunk" against his cup when he drinks and you can feel it catch on the spoon when he's eating. He doesn't seem to like actual teething toys and doesn't seem to have much need to soothe his gums. When he does want to gnaw on something, he prefers to a dry washcloth or one of his socks (he crawls around with it hanging out of his mouth). Actually, his favorite "teether" is a nice hard crust of a good old French baguette. He'll gum it until it "melts".
